Artist Bio

I am a painter, mixed-media, and sculpture artist born and raised in Idaho. I currently spend my summers in East Glacier, Montana and my winters in the Flathead Valley.

My early work is based on theme before medium, often reflecting on identity and self expression. I explored the instinct to express abstract thoughts as concrete forms. Self-portraiture has been a recurring device used in my work as a means of exploring and understanding identity.

I have shifted my focus away from self-portraiture and the introspective understanding of self, instead focusing on the individual as a part of the collective. I draw inspiration from human behavioral psychology, anthropology, geology and environmental studies. I aim to form an interdisciplinary understanding of humanity, to better understand myself. I create work based on the people, the environments, and the ideas that have shaped me into the artist I am today.
